The story behind this teddy bear started already back in 1987. English cartoonist and illustrator Michael Payne approached Carte Blanche Greetings Ltd with sketches of his Tatty Teddy character. Payne called her Miranda. It wasn't until year 2000 that Miranda was made into a soft toy. She was then renamed Me To You. All teddy bears are made by hand. The first generation Me To You soft toys looked exactly like today's Tatty Teddy bears, with grey fur, small black eyes and blue noses. They also have patches, which appear to have been sewn on. The teddy bears have kept the same overall design over the years, although a variation is the length of the fur, which today can be everything from short and curly to long and shaggy. All teddy bears from Me To You have CE-marking and comply with EU's regulatory framework for soft toys - EN71. This means they have pull-resistant parts such as eyes and noses, are made from non-flammable material and free from toxic chemicals. Most of the teddy bears from Me To You are suitable for children over the age of 3. Please refer to the age suitability guidelines under product information for each teddy bear, as there are exceptions.
