Bukowski Design is a family owned company, founded by Barbara Bukowski. Inspired by the traditional Steiff teddy bears, Barbara made rabbits and teddies with silky smooth fur for her sons. After having showcased the soft toys at a fair in Stockholm, Barbara realised their popularity and decided to start her own teddy bear manufacturing. At Bukowski, manufacturing is a closely monitored process. Every step is under strict control. All to ensure you are comfortable with the safety of your teddy bear. When you buy a Bukowski teddy bear, you can rest assured that (1) it is free from toxic chemicals (e.g. ftalater). Only non-recycled polyester fibre is used, to avoid traces of toxic chemicals (2) it does not contain flame-retardants. The teddy bears are made from polyester fibre, which in its natural composition is non-flammable. (3) ALL Bukowski teddy bears have CE-marking and comply with EU's regulatory framework for soft toys - EN71 parts 1,2 and 3. A piece of curiosity: each teddy bear is based on a real human being or a real animal. Perhaps it's an employee at the company or someone's pet that has been the inspiration in the creation of a specific teddy bear. The teddy bear is named after that person or that animal.
